Online Discussion Group with Greg  acim study groups
I invite you to dive deeper with me into the practical application of the Course every Tuesday for an Unwind Your Mind online study group at 7:30 pm CET (which is 12:30 pm CDT, my current time zone in Mexico). You can determine what time this is in your part of the world by visiting: www.everytimezone.com.
These meetings are held via Zoom Video Conferencing, a subscription based means of video-chatting for large groups. To find out about all of the current worldwide groups meeting in person or online, please visit our map of facilitators.
The hour-and-a-half sessions flow like this*:
  • Opening song
  • Silent meditation for five minutes
  • Opening prayer and sharing of the Group Guidelines and Intention (click here to read
    these).
  • An “expression session.” Anyone may clear their mind by expressing a present upsetting  thought and giving it to Holy Spirit. This is a time for us to listen with True Empathy and  follow the Clarity Process guidelines.
  • The meeting is opened up for a discussion focused on the ideas in the book.
  • Closing song

*NOTE: Every two months this group will instead watch a movie with ACIM-based commentary for the purpose of healing.

A Course in Miracles and the Movies

Enjoy the following excerpt taken from a transcribed talk by  A Course in Miracles  teacher David Hoffmeister. It’s very much like when you go to a movie theatre, you are going to watch a movie. It's already been shot. It’s in the can. It’s being projected. You can't change what is happening in the movie. Well, they actually are coming out with movies now where you can, but for this metaphor, we are talking about the last decade of films, black and white. etc. You can't change it. People do talk to the screen. Like, Don't go down that hallway. Don't go in there! Don't go in there. Don't. Get away from him. You know it’s a bunch of images on a screen but they are talking to them as if they were real people. That's the mesmerism of this whole world; forget that you are dreaming, watching a movie and become so identified with the characters, you really believe that they are real characters that can hear you. Jesus talks of that in  A Cours...

Church on the Hill

In the past when a family was looking for a Church on the Hill they would talk to their friends or maybe check the yellow pages for churches in their area. Then they might visit several of those churches on ths Hills until they find one they like. Church on the Hill Over the last several years Internet search engines have made tremendous improvements in what is called local search; that is the search for businesses or organizations in a specific geographical area. Now if you search for something and include a city in the search phrase you're likely to see results that include a map with some virtual push-pins in it. With one click you can get a phone number, driving directions, and even read reviews of the place of your choice. As a result, people have been ditching their yellow pages in droves and searching online for restaurants, retailers, and even churches. Today someone who is looking for a church - let's call him Bill - will most likely start his search o...
