TABULA RASA MYSTERY SCHOOL

What is A Course in Miracles?
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is a complete, spiritual, mind training tool that teaches the way to love and inner peace through Quantum Forgiveness. The perennial wisdom of ACIM underlies all non-dual spiritual teachings. Through applying the teachings in daily life, one’s thought system is reversed from the ego’s fear-based thinking, to a thought system based on love. The Course teaches discernment between illusions and truth, fear and love, the ego and the Holy Spirit. It is also a transformational, meditation program, and it uses relationships as a means for practicing forgiveness and learning how to be of true service beyond the perception of suffering. It is a pathway of deepening in devotion to Christ, which is our true Identity. The Course contains a 365 Lesson Workbook, a comprehensive Text, and a Manual for Teachers.
ACIM is a volume of written materials arranged as a self-study course designed to bring the student into a consistent state of peace and happiness. It was initially scribed and edited during the years of 1965-1972 by two psychology professors at Columbia University: Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford. With the aid of Ken Wapnick, Judith and Robert Skutch, and philanthropist Reed Erickson, the Course was published in 1976 and has gone on to sell over 2.5 million copies in 20+ languages.

A Course in Miracles and the Movies

Enjoy the following excerpt taken from a transcribed talk by  A Course in Miracles  teacher David Hoffmeister. It’s very much like when you go to a movie theatre, you are going to watch a movie. It's already been shot. It’s in the can. It’s being projected. You can't change what is happening in the movie. Well, they actually are coming out with movies now where you can, but for this metaphor, we are talking about the last decade of films, black and white. etc. You can't change it. People do talk to the screen. Like, Don't go down that hallway. Don't go in there! Don't go in there. Don't. Get away from him. You know it’s a bunch of images on a screen but they are talking to them as if they were real people. That's the mesmerism of this whole world; forget that you are dreaming, watching a movie and become so identified with the characters, you really believe that they are real characters that can hear you. Jesus talks of that in  A Cours...

Church on the Hill

In the past when a family was looking for a Church on the Hill they would talk to their friends or maybe check the yellow pages for churches in their area. Then they might visit several of those churches on ths Hills until they find one they like. Church on the Hill Over the last several years Internet search engines have made tremendous improvements in what is called local search; that is the search for businesses or organizations in a specific geographical area. Now if you search for something and include a city in the search phrase you're likely to see results that include a map with some virtual push-pins in it. With one click you can get a phone number, driving directions, and even read reviews of the place of your choice. As a result, people have been ditching their yellow pages in droves and searching online for restaurants, retailers, and even churches. Today someone who is looking for a church - let's call him Bill - will most likely start his search o...
